Dr. Jonathan E. Quillian is a proud Texan as well as one of the leading cosmetic and restorative dentists in the state. He began his distinguished dental career by receiving a doctorate in dental surgery from the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center in 1979. A native of San Antonio, he established his general practice in January 1980.

Dr. Quillian has continually advanced his knowledge of modern dental care through continuing education and strives to deliver the most advanced dental care available today to his patients. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Association of Implant Dentists. Dr. Quillian recently received the Good Fellow Award from the Texas Dental Association for 25 continuous years of membership. In addition to his association memberships, he has been awarded a number of postdoctoral training certificates in orthodontics, including Invisalign, endodontics, implants, and most recently laser surgery with the revolutionary Periolase MVP7. In 2001, he was awarded the prestigious Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) after accumulating the required 500 hours of postdoctoral education.

Dr. Quillian and his staff recognize that all patients are unique in their own right, each having their own set of values and goals as it relates to their oral health. At Culebra North Dental Care, the goal of the staff is to create an atmosphere of open communication and clear understanding with their patients. We believe in informing and educating each patient in order to create an individualized plan with the ultimate goal of a healthy mouth, healthy body, and radiant smile.

While attending dental school, Dr. Quillian met his wife, Cheryl, who was a student in the dental hygiene program. They married in 1979 and have been working together as a team in their dental practice ever since. They are the proud parents of three grown children and one grandson. When not in the dental office, Jonathan enjoys fishing, gardening, painting and travel.

Dr. Shelley Sproull joined the staff of Culebra North Dental Care in 1995. Dr. Sproull grew up in El Paso, Texas. She graduated with honors from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1984, Dr Sproull earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Sproull worked for the St. Vincent DePaul dental clinic for ten years providing dental care for indigent patients. She served as the Director of the dental program during her time there and was in charge of quality control in the dental department. In addition, she taught as a clinical chairside instructor at the San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sproull has kept abreast of new developments in dentistry through continuing education. She is proficient in all aspects of dentistry and has been certified in conscious sedation technique.

Shelley enjoys dentistry as a career because every day brings a new challenge. She sees every patient as unique. By getting to know each patient individually, Dr. Sproull is able to recommend a treatment plan customized to fit that patient’s needs and desires. She feels especially rewarded when she can change a patient’s life and self esteem by creating a beautiful smile!

Dr. Sproull and her husband, Bill, have been married for 29 years and have 2 children. In her spare time, she enjoys a good poker game, crossword puzzles, reading historical fiction, and snow skiing. Shelley is an ardent dog lover, owning two of her own – one adopted from a shelter, the other rescued from the street. She has rescued numerous other strays and found loving homes for them. She is an active supporter of ASPCA.
