Simple SEO Page Optimization Guidelines

Most people make on site optimization very complex. I want to set a simple guideline for on-page optimization that anyone can adapt into their pages and website.
1) Determine the page topic, and use 2 to 4 keyword phrases to accurately describe your page topic.
2) Place those keyword phrases in the Page Title tag, and only those. Don’t waste the most valuable page component on promoting your company, brand, or domain name. Example: “<title>Wedding dresses, discount wedding dresses, designer wedding dresses</title>”.
3) The second most important tag on the page is the “<H1>” tag. Use this for paragraph headings and subtitles on your page. Since H1 is large and ugly, simply redefine in CSS to your specs. Also, these H1 tagged content titles should have 1 keyword phrases in each. It is not uncommon to have 2 to 5 section titles using H1 tags.
4) When you write your page copy, make liberal, but sensible use of your keyword phrases. This is the 3rd most important page component; content.
5) When you insert images, use alt text to include some of your page keyword phrases for each image.
6) Be sure your page is linked internally from several other internal pages. More internal links to this page improves your page ranking as well.
